Rex Reduces Fuel Surcharge

Regional Express (Rex) has responded to the recent fall in global oil prices by announcing that the airline will decrease its fuel surcharge by $4.00 (including GST) per sector effective on all sales from 1 August 2008. This will see Rex’s fuel surcharge decrease to $40.00 per sector.

Responding to Sydney Airport Corporation Limited’s (SACL) announcement of record profits of $320m in the first six months of 2008, Regional Express (Rex) called on SACL and other capital city airports to have a moratorium of all rate increases in this current Financial Year.

Regional Express (Rex) today announced the sale of a Saab 340A VH-KEQ aircraft to Bridges Worldwide Express. The aircraft was commissioned by the latter to be converted to a cargo freighter.

Rex Flight ZL 177, Orange - Sydney

Regional Express (Rex) flight ZL 177 operating from Orange to Sydney today experienced a failure of the outboard wheel of the right hand landing gear shortly after departing from Orange. The aircraft landed normally in Sydney without incident at 2.30pm.

Rex Responds to Record Oil Price

Regional Express (Rex) has responded to the continuing rise in oil prices by announcing that the airline will have to increase its fuel surcharge by $4.00 (including GST) per sector effective on all sales from 02 July 2008. This will see Rex’s fuel surcharge increase from $40.00 to $44.00 per sector.

Rex Third Quarter Earnings Rise by 8%

Regional Express (Rex) today released its third quarter unaudited results, which show the group’s profit before tax rising from $7.6m in the same quarter last year to $8.2m this year, or a rise of 8%.
