WAGGA
WAGGA HOLIDAY & TRAVEL SHOW (February 2006)
Visitors to the annual Travel Fair
at Wagga Wagga’s Bolton Park Stadium
on Saturday 4 February were treated to
a large display depicting not only Rex’s
network of flights and fantastic holiday
destinations, but also a taste of what
goes on behind the scenes of an airline
with a special presentation by Rex Engineering.
The display included a large cutaway
model of a Saab 340 aircraft, an actual
propeller blade, the internal turbine
wheels of an engine as well as a detailed
electronic display of what occurs at
Rex’s Heavy Engineering Base
at Wagga Airport.
Another highlight
was the display of produce from King Island,
one of Rex’s
holiday destinations in Tasmania. King
Island cheeses, honey, kelp spread and pure rainwater were sampled.
Tasmanian mainland
and King Island holiday packages were well
received by those attending looking for
a great holiday escape.
Rex also had on hand a large LCD screen display of our web site
with on-line bookings. Visitors to the Rex stand were able to access
fares and flights on line and compare prices for travel across the
Rex network. Some even took the opportunity to book their flights
then and there.
The highlight
was a special competition enabling those
attending a chance to win a holiday for
2 to King Island comprising return Rex
flights from Wagga Wagga, one night's accommodation
and car hire.
The Rex display
was attended by many Rex staff and was
co-ordinated by Ian Greenwood, Rex’s Regional Sales Manager.
